Only tried generic as I was trying to diagnose the problem and didn’t want to install a brand new set of Epson ink to flush it into the waste pads. The printer is 3 ½ years old and up to the last week only used with Epson ink. No surplus ink under the cartridges, I have cleaned the capping station and the wiper blade. Yellow and black are next to each other in the cartridge carrier, always thought that was a daft idea. Last year it did lie unused for 3 months while I was in New Zealand and Australia. This probably has been going on for a while as I used to get faint lines in solid yellow areas for maybe 6 months. It looks like a leak of black ink into the yellow, If you print a purge document a couple of times it comes clean but next day it is the same again. It works well, recently I have noticed a degradation of the yellow when printing colour, this shows up in a nozzle check as well. I use an Epson 1500W in the UK (1430 in the US) for both normal colour printing and monochrome using Quadtone Rip and the Claria profiles Paul Roark developed for printing glossy monochrome.
